Сommunal nonprofit enterprise «Khmelnitsky regional cardiovascular center» of Khmelnitsky local self-government (hereinafter referred to as CNE «KRCVC») is the main institution in the region that provides highly specialized Cardiological and Cardiac surgery care to patients with cardiovascular pathology and provides organizational and methodological guidance to the Cardiological service of the region.
The history of the institution dates back to 1985, when the Khmelnytsky regional Cardiology dispensary was founded on the basis of the Khmelnytsky Regional Hospital, which 8 years later was transferred to the premises of the former medical and sanatorium Department (85 Volodymyrska St.).
The provision of cardiac surgery for residents of the region began in 2004, with the creation of a specialized Department of cardio – and Endovascular Surgery and Interventional radiology in the Khmelnytsky Regional Clinical Hospital.
Considering that the existing model of cooperation between the Cardiac Surgery Department of the Regional Clinical Hospital and the Khmelnytsky regional Cardiology dispensary was not optimal, the board of the Health Department of the Region State Administration decided (April 2015) on the expediency of creating a single Center for providing cardiology and cardiac surgery care on the basis of the Khmelnytsky regional Cardiology dispensary.
The reconstruction, which was started in December 2016, was completed in early 2021.
In order to bring highly specialized Cardiology and Cardiac surgery care closer to the residents of the region, on April 1, 2019, the Department of invasive surgery and Interventional Radiology was opened in the territory remote from the Regional Center (about 100 km) in Kamianets-Podilskyi. In the near future there are plans to open a similar department in the north of the region (Netishyn).
By order of the Health Department of the Regional State Administration, from September 1, 2019, the Department of Cardio – and Endovascular Surgery and Interventional Radiology of the Khmelnytsky Regional Clinical Hospital was liquidated and a corresponding one was created in the Khmelnytsky regional Cardiology dispensary (at that time).
According to the decision of the Khmelnytsky Regional Council of June 21, 2019, No. 37-26/2019 “On the reorganization of municipal health care institutions”, from October 1, 2019, the institution began its activities in a new status – as a Communal nonprofit enterprise «Khmelnytsky regional cardiovascular center» of the Khmelnytsky Regional Council.
The institution is headed by Merited Doctor of Ukraine, Doctor of Science, cardiac surgeon – Andrii Ivanovych Klantsa.
The total number of beds is 160 (110 cardiac and 50 cardiac surgery) and 12 intensive care beds.
In 2022, 41,416 patients received outpatient and polyclinic care at the CNE «KRCVC», treated inpatient – 3,525 patients. Performed heart surgery – 1,544, of them: open-heart surgery – 176, coronary artery stenting was performed to 1,118 patients, implanted artificial pacemakers to 250 patients. 12,713 ultrasound and 26,337 functional examinations were carried out.
